These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24-miles long, and includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent.

Extensive buffet breakfast available for early starts, 6 miles form the starting point at Horton in Ribblesdale

Cycle Guiding

Having been a keen cyclist in the dales for the last 20 years I can offer advice on routes around the Yorkshire Dales.

If you base your group or individual stay at The Craven Arms I can offer free advice on any route chosen, short or long.

I can offer guiding if you require this at a nominal fee.

It’s easy to set your own route via Strava or other apps, incorporating some of our epic routes, Malham Cove, Fleet Moss, Park Rash and many more.

However I have great knowledge of which of our roads are best suited to cycling, something you won’t know without local knowledge.

Paragliding Guiding

Apart from my interest in cycling I am also a pilot rated paragliding pilot, with 20 years experience. Any groups or individuals staying at The Craven Arms can be helped with free advice and guiding of our local sites.

We have many large sites like Ingleborough or Whernside, but also many smaller sites that aren’t as well known. Every wind direction is available, even some sites subject to sea breeze affect. Pilots would have to have third party liability insurance with their relevant associations.

We can also put you in touch with Active edge, our local paragliding school, if you are interested in learning to paraglide or would like to fly on a tandem paraglider.

If you are interested in any of these activities, please call on 01729 825627 and ask for Johnothan, or send an enquiry via the website.
